Cindy Warkentin

Cindy Warkentin is the Chief Information Officer for Maryland Automobile Insurance Fund (MAIF). Her responsibilities include enterprise-wide technology strategy, security, compliance, network infrastructure, telecommunications, applications, and software. She joined MAIF in 2002 and has served as the chief of IT and Telecommunications ever since. Her career spans

just over 30 years, with a majority of the time spent in the financial services and insurance industries.

Under her leadership, MAIF deployed imaging in the claims and underwriting departments, an innovation that introduced measurable efficiencies, significant productivity gains, and impressive ROI  Warkentin installed backup processes and considerably expanded recovery capabilities at MAIF.   She created technology strategies that assure alignment of technologies with business objectives, and she modernized computer operations.   Her leadership brought an enterprise focus to security and support.   Warkentin also implemented state-of-the-art storage technologies, and she placed emphasis and visibility on web development and deployment at MAIF.

Warkentin has served on boards of directors for youth organizations, and she has participated in community service and outreach programs, such as literacy programs and youth mentoring activities.   

Warkentin earned a Masters Degree from George Mason University in Executive Management, and she graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelors in English and Education.
