Angie Barnett, President/CEO, BBB | Greater MD
Angie’s background includes 17 years experience serving in executive roles for non-profit organizations. She assumed the leadership position as President/CEO of Better Business Bureau of Greater Maryland in March, 2006. BBB, with 2500 accredited businesses, is one of the largest business organizations in the State whose mission is to foster marketplace trust.
Previous to joining BBB’s team, Angie served five years as Vice President of Membership at the Maryland Chamber of Commerce. Angie provided leadership in membership development and retention and member services, working closely
After graduating with advanced degrees in Sociology, Angie focused her energies to serve communities at greatest risk and in greatest need through innovative programs and services. Her experiences ranged from serving as the Founding Director of a community-based program bringing education and work-place skills to young parents, to assisting the Cecil County Commissioners to implement a HotSpot program as part of the crime reduction strategies for the county. Angie’s passion for community impact, community change translated into serving the business community through her previous work at the Maryland Chamber.

Angie made Maryland her home 20 years ago after moving “north” from her home state of Arkansas. She now resides in Federal Hill after a few years in Annapolis and spending 12 years in rural Cecil County. She is a 2000 graduate of Leadership Maryland and continues to serve on boards of community-based programs. She has one daughter who now lives in Dallas.
